A dynamic clinical psychologist and experienced Marriage and Family Therapist and Approved supervisor with a wide range of personal coaching and corporate management and training experiences for a variety of organizations including government, non-profit organizations and private corporations. Albert offers inspiring insights and stimulating experiential facilitation and psychological services that cultivate participants’ strengths and motivation to develop innovations and practical solutions.
Albert actively provides trainings and consultations to governmental departments, non-governmental organizations and corporations in China, Singapore, Macau and Hong Kong to promote and develop the professional competency among the helping professionals. He completed a 15 months Marriage and Family Therapy training in Beijing in 2017; and 2 years training in Shanghai on Emotional Counselling and Coaching Program training counsellors working to reduce negative emotion. Other consultation/training includes: Community Crisis Response Team Training (NOVA), Fatigue Management, Working with Emotionally Disturbed Staff and Aggressive Customers, Cross Cultural Adjustment Management, and Career and Employment Planning and Coaching. For Employee Assistance and Human Resources Management programs, he provides trainings include: Communication Skills, EQ, Positive Leadership, Assertion and Negotiation Parenting and Well-Being Workshops have earned recognition from local and international organizations such as MTR Corp., Sunlife Financial, Swatch, Prudential Assurance Co., Royal Scotland Bank, Hong Kong Chinese

Besides the psychotherapeutic services that Albert provides to individuals, couples, families and groups, he facilitates counseling training and supervision to social workers, teachers and medical professionals and collaborates with organizations such as Lady Trench Training Centre, Social Welfare Department of Hong Kong, Faculty of Social work, Hong Kong, Neighborhood Advisory Council, Caritas, Salvation Army, St. James Settlement in Hong Kong, York Region Board of Education, Family Services of Peel and York Region, and Children’s Lawyer of Ontario.
Albert Chan is currently serves as the head and Professor of the School of Psychology at Gratia Christian College, and Adjunct Professor for Macau University of Science and Technology, Mongolia University of Science and Technology and Baptist Hospital Nursing Program. He joined the Beijing Normal University of Zhuhai School of Education in 2013 as a Visiting Professor of Psychology and was taught MAP at Beijing Normal University between 2014 and 2015. He had provided trainings to the graduate students in the Social Work Department in 2012 and 2013, 2015 at Fudan
University, Shanghai. Albert previously served on the faculty of three universities in Hong Kong teaching psychology and counselling subjects: University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University. Albert has a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Colorado School of Professional Psychology, University of the Rockies and a Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from McGill University. He practices across the fields of social work, clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy and management training and
consultation. His additional professional certifications include Certified trainer of NOVA (Community Crisis Team Training), Basic and Advanced Certifications of Critical Incident Debriefing, Family Mediation, and Employment and Career Planning. Trained in Duluth Wife Abuse Treatment program and the pioneer programs in North America in 1990s, he was specialized in the treatments of Wife Abuse and Sexual Abuse Therapy and Training. Albert is a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, International Member of the American Psychological Association, Division 32 Humanistic Psychology and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers. His trainings and diverse working experiences provide him the insights of understanding human nature and emotional problems and the breadth of family systemic perspective of human relations. He was a past board member of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Clinical Director for the Family Services in York Region, Ontario and an Active EAP Associate of Moreau-Shepell.
